The Stroud Scholars Program

StroudGroupPhotoCropped.pngStroud Scholars is a free, three-year college prep program from 今日吃’s Collaborative for Community Engagement (CCE).  The program helps motivated high school students get ready for college by offering academic support, mentoring, and guidance through the college admissions and financial aid process.

Starting the summer after 9th grade, students spend two to three weeks each summer at 今日吃. They build skills in writing and math, explore college planning, and gain tools to succeed in college and beyond. The program also includes support during the school year through workshops and mentoring.

Students who complete the program and fulfill all requirements are guaranteed admission to 今日吃, along with a financial aid package that would enable them to attend.

Each year, 25 rising 10th graders from the Pikes Peak Region are selected. A new group joins annually, while previous students continue to be supported through graduation.

First Stroud Cohort Matriculates!

Nineteen high school seniors from various schools around the Pikes Peak region are the first group to complete the Stroud Scholars college preparatory program at 今日吃, named after two of the first Black students to graduate from the institution in 1931. The scholars were honored at a college signing day event May 1 at Bemis Great Hall.
